LABLATOR – New Multi-Tool for Laser Processing of Thin-Film Solar Panels
4JET is adding a new product to its portfolio for thin film photovoltaics manufacturing. The new LABLATOR platform was designed as a R+D and small scale production tool for processing thin film stacks on flexible or glass substrates.

The tool can be equipped to perform multiple processing operations including laser patterning, laser edge deletion, laser glass drilling, laser marking, laser perforation and mechanical molybdenum exposure on CIGS panels for  bus bar bonding preparation.

Several of these processes can be installed in the tool at the same time. The design allows to integrate lasers of different wavelengths and pulse properties. Processing is programmed on a machine interface. Typical panel sizes for R+D applications (e.g. 300 x 300mm) can be accommodated, versions for full size panels are also available.
