4JET Acquires Corning Laser Technologies GmbH

With the acquisition of Corning Laser Technologies GmbH in Krailling, we are advancing to become the market and technology leader in laser-based glass processing across Europe and North America. This strategic move expands our glass technology portfolio – ranging from solutions for separating tiny components with sub-millimeter edge lengths, to wafers and displays, all the way to large-format substrates of several square meters for façades or photovoltaic applications.

Relocation to the New Site in Alsdorf-Hoengen

We have moved into our new, state-of-the-art headquarters in the Alsdorf-Hoengen industrial park. Covering approximately 27,000 square meters, the new facility brings together all company divisions under one roof – previously spread across three separate locations in the Aachen region. Around 180 employees now work on-site at Otto-Lilienthal-Straße, focusing on administration, R&D, and the production of innovative laser machines.

Simply Silent Tires – Launch of the LASER-FIT Line

The newly introduced LASER-FIT Line combines all four steps of the Laser-FIT process for producing low-noise tires into one integrated production line. This innovative process includes tire cleaning, application of a liquid foam precursor, and subsequent laser activation of the foam surface. A final laser engraving on the tire highlights the unique characteristics of the Simply Silent Tires.

Awarded "Tire Supplier of the Year"

At the TTI Awards, we were honored with the “Tire Supplier of the Year” award. Leading experts from the tire industry recognized 4JET's innovations in laser-based surface processing. This includes technologies for mold and innerliner cleaning, tire marking, and the optimization of tire uniformity.

Launch of the World’s First Laser System for Tire Uniformity Correction – LUC



We are proud to introduce the world’s first laser systems for tire uniformity correction – the LUC systems (Laser Uniformity Correction). This groundbreaking laser process enables precise, contactless, dry, and dust-free reworking of tire beads, significantly improving overall tire performance.

Process Innovation for Through-Glass Vias in Advanced Packaging

Together with Plan Optik AG, we are introducing the new PEARL VLIS process (Volume Laser Induced Structuring). This innovative process chain enables fast and clean fabrication of high-precision, metallized through-holes in glass – so-called Through-Glass Vias (TGVs). TGVs are primarily used in advanced packaging of glass wafers and in substrates for display technologies.

Shark Skin

Together with Nikon Corporation, we are working on the industrial-scale implementation of the shark skin effect on aircraft surfaces. Using laser technology, microstructures known as riblets are created on the aircraft’s paint surface. These structures significantly reduce aerodynamic drag – leading to lower fuel consumption.

Opening of a New Production Facility in Aachen

We are opening an additional assembly site in Aachen. The new facility will house our growing production of micro-machining systems for glass and photovoltaic applications, along with the dedicated engineering teams that support them.

Launch of the TOPAZ PV Scribing System

With the launch of the TOPAZ PV scribing systems, we are introducing a versatile solution for the precision processing of photovoltaic glass. The new laser scribing system enables even faster processing of photovoltaic modules – with higher precision and improved results.

Opening of the New Service and Demo Center in Atlanta (US)

With a new location in Atlanta, Georgia, we are expanding our presence in the United States. The new hub for sales, service, and application testing will serve as a central point of contact for our growing customer base in North America and Mexico.

Launch of the JETLASER M100

Expanded MicroFab JobShop Offering: Laser Mold Cleaning Service in Alsdorf

Our Alsdorf site now features a 4JET MicroFab JobShop. Tire manufacturers can have their molds cleaned using STMCS laser systems – with no minimum contract term or volume requirements. This gives producers access to perfectly cleaned molds without the need to invest in their own laser equipment.

Production Launch of SCANNECT (QR Code Tire Marking for Full Traceability) by a German Premium Manufacturer

The 4JET SCANNECT solution has officially entered series production for OEM passenger car tires. SCANNECT enables end-to-end traceability of tires throughout their entire lifecycle. Laser-engraved QR codes ensure seamless tracking and open new opportunities for direct customer engagement.

Opening of an Additional Production Facility in Eschweiler

We are opening another assembly site in Eschweiler. Moving forward, all product lines for the tire industry will be commissioned at this location. The facility also houses offices for our engineering teams and service department to ensure close coordination between project management, production, and customer support.

Founding of 4JET Laser Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

We are expanding with a new location in Shanghai, China. With the establishment of 4JET Laser Technology Co., Ltd., we are strengthening our international sales and service presence.

Formation of the 4JET Group

We have established the 4JET Group under the umbrella of 4JET Holding GmbH. The group unites several operating companies that design and build laser processing systems for high-quality surface applications in the tire and automotive industries as well as in the glass and photovoltaic sectors. Our customers in more than 35 countries are supported by international sales and service teams.

Growth Capital of EUR 15 Million

Technology-focused private equity investor Jolt Capital is investing EUR 15 million in the growth of the 4JET Group. This capital enables us to expand our global sales and service platforms and to continue pursuing high-potential development initiatives.

Opening of a New 4JET Site Near Rosenheim

4JET microtech has opened a new MicroFab JobShop facility in Prutting near Rosenheim, dedicated to the precision processing of glass, thin films, and electronic components. With this expansion, we are increasing our capacity and broadening our range of services. Processed components can be qualified in our in-house metrology lab using optical and surface microscopy as well as fracture testing.

Market Launch of JETLASER

4JET Technologies GmbH is introducing the JETLASER product line. These handheld laser systems enable mobile and flexible execution of industrial cleaning processes, including mold and tool cleaning, paint removal, and surface preparation prior to joining or coating processes.

SCANNECT App for Reading Tire QR Codes Now Available in the App Store and Google Play

With laser-engraved QR codes, tires can be easily identified and tracked using a smartphone. Reading these codes is now even easier with the SCANNECT App, available in the App Store and Google Play Store.

4JET Technologies GmbH has won the “REIFEN Innovation Award” in the category Service Concepts & Process Optimization with its SCANNECT solution. With SCANNECT, tires can be tracked throughout their entire lifecycle right up to the end customer by means of an individual, permanent QR code.

Spin-Off of the Micro-Machining Division into 4JET microtech GmbH & Co. KG

Following a strong sales year in 2015, we continue to grow. The micro-machining division has been spun off into an independent company, 4JET microtech GmbH & Co. KG. Its core activities include laser processing of glass and solar cells, particularly for international markets.

Opening of a Demo Center for Tire Machinery

The new demonstration and development center gives tire industry customers the opportunity to conduct feasibility tests of products and processes without obligation. This allows us to continuously advance our systems, thoroughly test new solutions, and provide on-site training for both employees and customers.

Market Launch of the TCS (Tire Cleaning System)

Our Tire Cleaning System (TCS) is celebrating its market launch. Using laser ablation, the TCS quickly and efficiently removes unwanted release agents, oils, and contaminants from the innerliner surface of a tire.

Development of the PearlCut Laser Process for Precision Glass Cutting

With the launch of the PearlCut process, we are introducing a new solution for precision glass cutting. Ultra-short laser pulses create controlled microcracks in the glass, enabling customized contours and highly precise cutting edges. PearlCut seamlessly complements our existing portfolio for micro-machining of glass, solar cells, and mobile electronics.

Expansion of the Alsdorf Site with a New Office Building

4JET Technologies GmbH now employs 70 people at our site in the IGA Park Alsdorf-Hoengen. A new smart office building provides additional workspace for up to 30 employees, located directly adjacent to the main facility.

4JET Sales+Service GmbH has become 4JET Technologies GmbH. The new name reflects our transformation from a sales and service provider into a development company for innovative high-tech engineering.

4JET Relocates Headquarters to Alsdorf

We have moved from Hückelhoven to the Alsdorf Industrial and Business Park in the Aachen region. The new site, featuring modern office, laboratory, and assembly facilities, provides ample space for our continued growth.

Expansion into the U.S. Solar Market


We are expanding into the North American photovoltaic market and have begun supplying our first U.S. customers with systems for edge deletion of thin-film modules. The expansion is further supported by a sales and service partnership with all4GP Inc., based in Los Angeles.
